Hi all,
Hoping this post doesn't demonstrate my ignorance too badly given some of the knowledge on here....
I'm hoping to tap into the boards expertise for QF flights in June.
Our family of 4 have to travel to Singapore in June 2014 (Approx 20th) and return July (Approx 10th) for my parents' golden wedding.
I've found some pretty keenly priced Premium Economy Fares outbound on QF51 and returning on QF52.

I seem to have accrued about 400K QFF points over the years and was wondering about using them to try to upgrade us to Business for the flights.

Do any of the savants here have any suggestions as to how a lowly bronze QFF member can maximise the chances of upgrading us, and any idea of probability of success?

My inner voice is telling me that the chance of there being 4 unused business class seats is low, but I don't really have an in depth knowledge of the system, and I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks in advance!

G.

There is nothing you can do but put the request in, you might be surprised as I doubt there are many who try to UPgrade from PE and that route does have low utilisation of j at times, one thing you can do is move travel to off peak j times like mid week and Saturdays.

As markis10 suggested BNE-SIN J often has low loading so I would be hopeful that an upgrade is more likely than not. Every J flight we've done has only been 30-50% full. Maybe we just picked good (or bad for QAN) flights.

My last 2 flights to SIN in November were ex BNE in J. Both directions were maybe 30% full on each trip. Put in your upgrade request online and see how you go. I've only had one upgrade request out of half a dozen not confirmed immediately on other routes

Nothing ventured, nothing gained i guess.

Put in 2x2 upgrade requests for the Saturday flights.

We'll see what happens!

Thanks for the advice.
