Points purchase. How long before in account?

Asking on behalf of a friend. They have a booking on hold and there seems to be a delay with the points turning up in the account. There was little availability so they are now worried they are going to lose their booking. They were initially advised takes 24 hours. Now being told 72. What is the typical time frame?. It's their first purchase of points.

Over the weekend it can take until Tuesday our time.

Thanks Markis10. I believe it was a Saturday EST purchase. That may explain the delay.

It's weird. I bought on the weekend too. My account posted posted miles instantly, my partners' took about 24 hrs. Which is what usually happens. For some reason, her account gets a small delay, but never mine.

From my experience, if they don't post immediately, they can take at least around a full business day (if bought over weekend, expect them on Tuesday at the earliest).

I have had one account take up to a week before…
