I might be a little behind the ball here (though I couldn't see another thread on it), but after several months I finally received my new SPG Platinum card, and included with it were four individually-numbered "Platinum Thank You" cards.

Basically, when you receive good service from anyone at a SPG Hotel, you give them one of these Thank You cards, and they enter the number into a website. Not sure if they get anything tangible or just recognition, but it's an nice touch, and something I'd love to see rolled out to other loyalty programs. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

AAdvantage has a similar program in place - agree, it's great if it encourages and rewards service and performance. :)

When you hand over your Platinum guest card at check-in, accidentally attach it with those Thank You coupons, and if there is no upgrade to a suite .... you ask for the coupon back (and said it accidentally stuck to the card) ;)

LOL!

The properties do get fined if someone makes a complaint to Corporate Customer Service about denial of SPG benefits or deviation from SPG policy. So I think it stands to reason that they get a tangible benefit from receiving one of these Thank You coupons.
