Platinum shadow seat

Pretty sure it’s just one person has parked themselves in a middle seat - overriding would could have been a WP shadow - so possibly WP also? Which is even weirder…. There are still plenty of window and aisle seats free and row 4 seats…
Just to close the loop, it would appear a WP who can’t count plonked themselves in the middle seat thinking they were sitting next to a bestie - who in fact was on the window seat in the row behind - with a spare middle seat…

Ahh the joy of watching your Platinum shadow become the "im moving to an empty seat" position...of course we have no grounds to complain.

My flight to Queensland has seat block for next year I think .
I got 6a and 6b two passengers .
6C is currently not selectable for anyone besides me .
also the other rows up the front are full must be popular flight !!

So has anyone been watching for a shadow, had an empty seat next to them. Then once in the air, had another passenger move into that seat?

I assume there's absolutely nothing you can do in that scenario to maintain an empty seat next to you?
Just had this situation / arguably worse happen to me flying LAX to SYD.

I’m in 55G, shadow is 55F, couple sat in 55D&E. I’ve placed a few items on seat next to me and settled down for some shut eye - I’ve got arm rest between F/G up my legs slightly diagonally into footwell of F.

20 mins later I’m woken by the woman from 55E sitting on my shadow and (wish I was joking) on my leg. I’m taking in the bizarreness of the situation and she starts elbowing me, and now her husbands feet are also thrust across her lap. They’re both eye masks on and ignoring any protestation on my part.

went and found FA, apparently nothing they can do as I’d not booked 55F, but neither had this couple right???

anyway by this point I’ve accepted that the shadow was ceded, but I at least want 100% of my own seat back. This woman is refusing to let me put my arm rest back until I get the FA to come and enforce it, for all the good it does me, she continues to sit diagonally leaning into my seat and I’m getting sporadic prods by husbands feet.

raise it with CSM and FA repeatedly, they speak to them repeatedly which seems to make the situation worse.

I ask them to find me another seat in a row which has spare seats…there are plenty, but - ‘they don’t want to disturb other passengers’ who, by this point are taking full advantage of the spare capacity

I get it, this is a breakdown in humanity / etiquette more so than Qantas policy, but I still feel totally chumped
