Platinum shadow seat

Just booked a SYD-MEL and MEL-SYD leg for next week, no shadows this time either. Just as another data point.

Will try again at T-80

Depends on which flight and when.

As I found out some flights are VIP flights where its clogged with CL/P1 and WP thus theres no shadow to cast as everyone is your status or higher.

Just look at expert flyer before your flight and if there’s an X next to you then it’s actively blocked

For P1s it’s most flights unless chokkers and for WP it’s mainly on international if you’re lucky

Just tried putting us A and C, and B didn’t block on EF. Guess not every route has it by default I suppose, but the flight (QF2) is in May so still a ways out.
QF2 SIN - SYD currently within t-80. I noticed after moving myself that theres a block on B. Im solo travelling in A and theres another solo in C.

EF shows maybe 75-80% seats selected. Although lots of middles remaining still on the 3s.

Shadow on CNS-SYD in J today. Shows as available when my or my partner's WP QFF number is entered into EF, but shows as blocked when there's no number in EF.

Sigh.. once boarding started 15 min after my last post, every seat in J was filled. At least one has gone to a Qantas staff member presumably flying standby.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know how far in advance you can check your flights load on EF? We’re on QF2 in January and if I try load the seat map for our flight it gives us an error

EF Flight Availability works a year out (as soon as the inventory goes on sale) and gives a better indication than seat maps.

Possibly because all the seats selectable by lower/non status pax are taken. Let me know the date and I'll export the seat maps for you anyway.

Domestically I wouldn’t even bother…there’s always someone to fill the seat. I usually one get a spare on a day of travel delays where it’s all out of whack
