Hi FF's
Has anyone had any luck with replacement bag tags? (The personalised plastic tags with member name/number on them)
I got mine when I hit platinum 3 yrs ago and they have gradually disintegrated and was wondering if they are a once only issue or if anyone has had theirs replaced.

Regards

JASON

Call the VFF team, 131 875, Option 3; They should be able sort tags out :)

Yes, call the VFF help desk.

VFF: How many tags would you like?
Me: Oh. Three thanks.
VFF: You cant have three!
Me: Well why did you ask how many I wanted?

I was told I could have 2 tags so I asked for 2.... only got one in the mail.

I was reading through your post line by line thinking 3!....good luck with that one, then by the time I finished I saw you got what I got. One! All I can say is they must be really valuable. I emailed and asked for two.......I got one.

I have called up a few times over the years, always get one but same issues ask for 2 or 3 and 1 turns up. I also feel like you get treated a little doggy like your trying some scam " I'm like l fly enough to be WP each year of course my tags are going to get ruined/lossed" silly system. If I hadnt called up I would have only received the first lot from them 4 and a half years ago.

Same here. They spent squillions on those flashy boxes the original plat (and gold) came in, but ever since it's an envelope with no goodies. Surely the cards cost next to nothing, and when they're printing your card, how hard would it be to print a couple of bag tags?

Problem with those VA tags are the wire ties provided. Too stiff, they make the tag sit at an angle and thus them susceptible to kinks, scratches and a short life.

I asked for 2 replacements last time, noted the problem was the wire rarther than the plastic, but still got only one in the mail..

Recommend replacing the wire with something more flexible, allowing tag to sit flush on the bag..

Yes, we've had problems with this - two Gold tags (separate trips) were damaged, each time part of the tag was completely snapped off.

I've never had any problems requesting a replacement, but like everyone else, only ever receive 1 tag.

I requested new tags via email a few months back and received 3, each in separate envelops (I didn't specify how many I wanted).

Doesn't VA subscribe to environmental friendliness? Cut the waste? Oh, well....helping to keep Australia Post in business I guess.

I also requested new plat tags via email. Did not specify amount and received three tags in three seperate envelopes as well.

I also emailed the Platinium team asking for 3 tags figuring out after reading everyones posts that I might get one. I did this while overseas as I have been travelling for close to 5 months overseas and my tags where all but gone. (except for the wire bit) Arriving home recently sure enough 3 tags turned up all in seperate envolopes. I'm not defending VA however I guess these things are ordered automatically and their system only allows one tag per envolope.

So to be fair it is our fault.... :) We should be more careful with our tags. I have a perfect solution. Leave them in your bed side draw and the will last forever... (Joke by the way)

Yep, either that or VA could possibly issue frequent flyer tags that can actually handle the rigors of frequent flying!

Etihad trashed two; called VA, explained, asked for two, please, nicely - got one! Dice roll!

I always end up with a stubby bit of plastic left, the wire and the eyelet.

Am I the only one who seems to get new ones every year after I requalify?*

*well it seems to be every year, but I usually receive them with my new card.**

**and I don't think I've used any of them

You must be special! I can imagine for a status up-or-downgrade that they'd send out a complete kit. We just get new cards sent gummed onto a piece of paper in an envelope. Probably a cost-saving enhancement!

The most recent was after a parental pause so that could explain the most recent full kit... not sure why the others though

It took me three emails and a phone call over three months to finally get a couple of replacements last year...
