All depends on family numbers and age. QF will extend lounge access (including F lounge) to two adults and two children up to 18 years of age, with additional children at the discretion of the individual lounge manager.

I take it you're only QFi to SIN, then 3K to HKT? If so, lounge access should be OK in SYD and SIN, but not in HKT. No WP benefits on 3K as far I'm aware...

You're only allowed one adult guest into the FLounge. The two adult guests are for the intl J Lounge and domestic J Lounge and QP.

I didn't explain it very clearly. From the QF website:

Qantas Lounges welcome you when travelling together with your family. In addition to your normal guest allowance you may also bring up to two children, between ages 4 and 17, into lounges operated by Qantas. Children aged 3 years or under are not counted as guests for the purpose of determining the number of guests of the member. If you are travelling with more than two children, the Qantas lounge manager will try to accommodate them, subject to reviewing the space available in the lounge.

You explained the part about children clearly.

I was correcting information about the FLounge. The FLounge only allows one guest to WP and WP1. (Children under 18 are in addition to this guest allowance)

I was trying to understate the access if anything - though clearly failing :) - I meant access was for 2 adults (i.e. WP + 1) + 2 kids, ignoring any access for additional adult guests - I couldn't find the Qantas table that listed guest numbers by lounge type, but did find the following info which implies only 1 adult guest if flying JQ / 3K / VF:

Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyers as well as Qantas Club members travelling with Jetstar* are welcome in any Qantas Club lounge. Simply show your boarding pass and Qantas Club card, or Platinum or Gold Qantas Frequent Flyer card, at the lounge reception. You may also invite one guest.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Oh wow, never mind I was wrong in regards to intl Business Lounge guesting, it's one as well according to the website. I was told porkies by the agent at the door! (Unless it was recently changed)

OK, thanks for the link Red Roo. So the rules for adults are:
SYD F Lounge - WP + 1
SYD J Lounge - WP + 1
SIN Lounge - WP + 1
And of course, 2 kids etc. etc.

Ive just booked a family flight to Sing and my WP1 status allowed us all to select bulkhead seats in Y for the extra legroom. A huge benefit in my mind as I am so inured to J and F that flying long haul in Y is not my idea of a holiday.

Much the same experience as WP - pretty good seat choice for the whole family. A linked booking for my wife also meant she was given a good seat though this wasn't until OLCI.

I'm not travelling with my family - but on a Classic award booking for Mrs and Miss Aus ATC, BNE-MEL, made from my account, I was able to allocate them Row 4 on a B738 inside T-80.

Thanks greenfish and to all

No dumb questions here. It's best to be prepared, especially if this is your first trip overseas and you're travelling with a young family.

Yes, you and your travelling party will check in and clear security/customs/immigration together.

Please don't hesitate to let the ground staff and cabin crew know if there's anything they can do to make your journey more comfortable and relaxing.

See you on board soon. :)

Note they said 2 adults not 2 guests. WP + 1 guest is 2 adults.
