Platinum access to award seats domestic

Hi,
Recently made Platinum and need to travel to Canberra tomorrow - looking to burn some of my points but almost no J award seats available even thru Sydney.
Has anyone had experience ringing QFF and asking them to free up a seat in that class.
Is there a particular section that I should ask for ?

You need to find availability in I class for any chance of getting a revenue seat converted to an award. What city are you based in? I can take a quick look at ExpertFlyer to confirm whether there is availability in I.

No, anyone on the "premium" desk should understand if you say you want to book a classic award but can't find availability.

Assuming OP is in BNE ("no availability even thru SYD") the 5:10am departure is I8 and the 2:10pm is I7.. so they may have some luck.
