Not many AFF members will have a PR Mabuhay Miles account but if any do, there is presently the usual annual offer (blackout period 14 - 20 February 2018 inclusive) for travel at 50 per cent off the usual number of points required from mid January with all travel completed by 10 March 2018.
J, W and Y redemption seats are available with MEL or SYD - MNL only requiring 20000 points for a one way J class redemption (booked as R subclass.)
Availability is better northbound than southbound, and in February only appears to be available to SYD (ex MNL) from about 25 February. Taxes and charges are not specified but from past history they are lower than QF FF.
Lots of Asian destinations are available (requiring more points as everything is done on a sector basis like VA), but LHR, JFK, YVR, YYZ, SFO and LAX are among those excluded.
Ticketing must be completed by Friday 13 October. Ring the PR office in Sydney for bookings, and then annoyingly send a special downloadable form by email. Archaic, but the newly refurbished J suites on the A333s used out of SYD and MEL are excellent so it's worth that hassle.
