Got the same quote of $4.67 a fortnight for my neighbour's 8yr cat. So that is $121.42 a year.

1000 points plus 142 (2 points per dollar for the premium). So 1142 points for $96.42 (Minus the $25 gift card).

What's with the cats only being $4.67 pf? I have a REAL dog. She's only 2 yrs old - they want $4.98pf.

Guess it's because cats are always getting run over - well mine did (x2) at least - no survivors!

I am really interested in this one to change over from Medibank Private pet insurance, with Woolies my pet insurance would be cheaper and there would be no excess compared to the 100 I have at the moment.
+ I get some FF miles, will read the PDS tonight.

My thoughts exactly. I signed up today!

When I looked into pet insurance originally, it was rather poor value - my moggie would need just over 2x laparotomies a year, every year, to make the premiums worthwhile. Consequently, no insurance for my fluffies (actually real, not just taco loving). Sadly one has needed 3 laparotomies in 18 months

edit: also, my email offer only had the $25 gift card code (PET09). So that sucks too.

Our dog walked into a piece of glass two weeks ago and sliced his paw open, resulted in 4 stitches, the vet bills are over $800 already, even with the $100 excess that is almost two years worth of premiums... Coupled with the routine care cover I think it's still worth it. You never know what might happen.

I think this example explains why the cat insurance is cheaper. A cat is way too intelligent to walk into a piece of glass.

We're very lucky in that our vet is wonderful, as well as cheap (as he is semi retired, and pretty much just keeps working to keep him busy I think!). Can't fault his competence, and our moggie has been up and bouncing around very quickly after his surgeries, with minimal scarring and no infections.

As a cute story, we took our cat to an emergency vet as it was out of hours when he had a bowel obstruction. They did the surgery ($1200) and booted him out that afternoon, still woozy. When it became clear he was still obstructed the next morning, I took him to the usual vet who redid the surgery, kept him for 3 days since he'd been knocked around a bit. He called us twice daily for updates, and the vet always said "oh he didn't seem keen on his cat food so I fried him up some chook but he didn't like that so I tried some lamb" or "he looked at my breakfast this morning longingly so I gave it to him". Now there's someone who does it for the love :D

edit: and the same surgery, and 3 days accom was $600.

Yes, but does it wag its tail when it see you?

My sisters dog is going to love this.......I wonder what the cancellation policy is like after 60 days.......

12. Can I cancel my pet’s policy at any time?
A: Yes, you may cancel your policy by giving the administrator of Woolworths Pet Insurance, PetSure (Australia) Pty Ltd (“PetSure”) written notification. Policy cover ceases at the time the Administrator receives your written notification.

If you have not made a claim under the policy and you have paid the annual premium in full, you will be refunded the portion of the premium that relates to the remainder of the policy period less any amount we are unable to refund. There will not be any refund if you have chosen the monthly or fortnightly payment options.

If you have made a claim under the policy, and you have chosen to pay premiums annually, no refund is provided if you cancel your policy. If you are paying monthly or fortnightly, any remaining premium still has to be paid for the remainder of the policy period.

Cats when they show affection, they show they really like a person. Whereas Dogs only show subservience to the individual they think is the Alpha Dog.

I signed up under this promotion in December and promptly received the $25 gift card. The bonus points, as well as the 2:$1 on monthly premiums were nowhere to be found. It took many separate phone calls over 2 months to get the points posted. The 1000 points eventually appeared, as well as the backlog of monthly premium points, and new points seem to be posting every month now.

Just be warned that the insurance is actually handled by a separate company, which means any problems result in the usual "not our problem" response from both Everyday Rewards and the insurance company. In the end I never did get an explanation as to why the points never showed up. They had my QFF number on file from day 1. Hopefully mine was a unique case.

$25 giftcard received today, policy activated 12/07/2012, now awaiting the 1000 points. Receiving the 9 points per fortnight already.:)
