As previously mentioned in the Chat thread, we had a couple of mini-getaways earlier this month.

Firstly MrsGM and I spent a couple nights in the Swan Valley, relaxing with couples' massages, some bubbly, a nice sauna, and just general non-kid life.

And then we collected the younguns and hopped on the ferry to Rottnest for a few nights, just cause she'd decided we should.

Some pics and basic details to follow.

Livin' the dream, heh!

Our two night stay in the Valley was with the Swan Valley Retreat. They only have two self-contained chalets, so it's all very nice and private.
They also have an onsite spa and treatment room, which explains the massages.
And a sauna, which is that little barrel looking thing on the right. Turned out to be quite pleasant spending 20 minutes in there during the very very cold evenings.

Those are MY feet by the way.

I won't bore you with pics of too much food, cause I don't have that many.
But we had a couple of decent meals at Homestead Brewery, and also at Kappy's, which is an Italian place in nearby Guildford. I got the pork & veal meatballs with spaghetti. Pretty good.

But we had some good burgers at Joey's Diner...

And then as we prepared to return home after our two nights we stopped in at Maison St Honore for a French inspired brekky.

And to buy a stack of macarons.

I'll get back to this at some point this week. Before I forget about all the amazingly dull things that happened.
