With the advancement of airframes and the lengthening of ranges, what are peoples thoughts on a direct non-stop Perth-London (or some other port in Europe) flight?

I guess at the moment there are issues with the airport not having capacity or a suitable alternative in case of bad weather (can A380s land on Rottnest?) but would this ever be a suitable route?

Surely the govt would want to keep more tourism money in Aus? Plus there is a big british expat population in WA.

You want to be in an economy seat (or any seat for that matter) for that long, be my guest...it would be one smelly plane on arrival!
