Perth-Montevideo with Qatar and TAM

Hi,
I need to go to Montevideo and as a QFF and QPC decided to go Oneworld.
Has anyone made the trip to Sao Paulo with Qatar, and/or onwards with TAM out of Sao Paulo?
Looking for any comments, hints, best seats etc in Y

I have Qatar booked Perth to Moscow later in the year.

I gather some folks here are less than impressed with QPC rewards, so any advice on whether to credit QPC or QFF the points/status?

The only comment I would make is that awards to and from South America, while difficult, are possible to get using QF points. But getting award flights within South America can be difficult.

Re. crediting to QF/QR, I guess it depends on your personal goals an plans. QR points/status could be useful if you plan to fly QR in future, and QF points earn on that route might not be great. But if you aren't going to use the QR points there is probably little point in crediting to them.

Really depends what you want as Matt said. But if you're mostly flying internationally ex-PER then definitely look outside of QF. For good points earn and award value AA is often brought up. If you were flying J then either of those trips return would achieve sapphire with BA, in Y it will depend a lot on the booking class. If you're predominantly flying QR, find out what booking classes and look at earn charts on each program and try to project out what you'd achieve on each then decide what meets your goals the best.

Unfortunately these questions are difficult, dependent on the individual and take some time to answer yourself but it is definitely worth the effort.
