Hey all - I’m about to be commuting to Perth weekly for about three months.
I don’t have any hotel loyalty status just now, so would be starting fresh with everyone (I might still be silver with Hilton).
What’s everyone’s thoughts on the best place to stay these days in terms of loyalty program - important to me is reward nights so I can have a family holiday after my three month sentence.
Cheers!

While I may be in the minority, I'm still a big fan of hotels.com - stay ten nights, get one free. Repeat. Free night is based on average of your ten nights. This way you don't have to be loyal to a chain.

Yea, thanks SJ. I used that a lot last year - it worked particularly well because I was booking for three other people two, so I was getting nearly free 2 nights a week.
The only issue with it is you don’t get hotel loyalty (like lounge access or whatever) for staying so many times.
I think I’ll just book with hotels.com for this week, and suss it out.
Better get my skates on, flying over in a few hours!

Will you be flying enough with VFF to obtain SG and hence get the reciprocal Hilton Gold benefit?

Give Catherine-Anne a call at Club At The Hyatt 92251234 to see if that works for your circumstances. There is a free Cat bus to go up the street.
We have been club members since 1994.

or indeed any bus up the terrace is free.

At Burswood Crown has been struggling to fill their rooms so there may be a deal going out there. They built a new hotel and there was a rumour that 3 floors were closed due to lack of demand but I never bothered to confirm if that this is correct.

Accommodation wholesalers advertised a pretty good deal in todays Sunday Times on a Crown Hotel at Burswood.

Where in Perth will you need to be? That could be a factor too.

There's the new (refurbished) Intercontinental smack back in the middle of the CBD now.

I was there just after Christmas and was surprised how many staycations appeared to have occurred on Christmas Day. Hard product is quite good but less impressed with the soft product. Plus that pool was built in the middle of a wind tunnel!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks everyone. I went with Fraser Suites (old go-to) booked through Hotels.com this week.
I am working outside of the CBD (30 min drive) - so staying anywhere in the big smoke is fine as I'm against (the little amount!) of traffic.
Just curious if any loyalty program is better than another these days. Years ago in the UK I'd never stay anywhere other than Hilton and thought the loyalty program was fab - but more recently it seems much slower to build up enough points for free nights (hence I've stuck with the Hotels.com by 10 get one free thing.
PS - I'm flying QF, so can't loyalty match Hilton Gold.
Cheers!

With hotels.com I use the Citi Prestige Credit Card to book any stay 4 nights and pay for 3 nights deal. You get no extra kickers but the discount works for us.
