$ per SC - it pays to be a OOL DJ flyer

It's even better when you work at the airport. Just leave the car at work and jump on a plane. No parking fee. There are some mysterious mileage calculations at play from OOL though. OOL- CNS is one, it comes in at zone 3 but you can fly direct to TSV and connect (same plane). If we all live long enough the train line may terminate at the airport one day.
.

Thats because the majority of the time you have to go via Sydney the E170 is only three days a week, so its a great lurk for 80SC's in PE

I'm all up for parking at LiamR's place and getting him to drive me to the airport! :p:p

I really do need to find an excuse to get to the Gold Coast.

Hah! Good one Tony. It would be a nice walk from my apartment to the airport along the beach if you are into that sort of thing. ;)

Don't forget, OOL has no lounge, no Priority security or Priority Boarding, a large glorified tin shed as a main terminal.

Not to mention the bogan passengers.

Mmm. Not quite so keen now. What your telling me is that I am going to be at an airport with sand in my shoes queuing up with the bogans, in a building resembling a large WWII air raid shelter. I get uncomfortable in the QF J lounge in Brisbane!! :p

But it's a nice tin shed. ;)

I don't queue up with the bogans I just push them out of the way and walk to the front when I hear the boarding announcement.

I get uncomfortable around people in general. (Especially those who sit next to me and try to talk to me...)

Takes Off Topic Hat on.

Slightly on topic, once the new lounge opens. I do think it would be time for an AFF Lounge/Status run to Gold Coast airport so you all can see the airport.

What is the best way to get to Gold Coast airport from the end of the rail line?

.... or any other variations for that matter.

Maybe I'm the epitome of waste, but I often find it more convenient to hire a car than drive and park !

If I'm two or more days away, a car hire is my preferred choice...........to drive the 1/2 hour home.

As a status pax usually somewhere near the front of the tin can, I find I'm often first in the rental queue. I can be out of the terminal just as quickly, no parking fee (which usually pays the rental cost), and have a car to drive around in the whole of the next day! Why run up Klm's on my cars! Sometimes, if I fly from BrisVegas it can be on par to hire and drive for just one day. Regionals......I have been known to hire a vehicle for a number of days, fly home to bed and back the next morning and it's cheaper to do that than have an overnight (and the regionals don't mind you leaving their rental in their airport carpark 'till next day)!
