My mum lives with us for 6 months of the year and then splits her time between Europe.
I am just in the process of paying for her next return fare and am wondering if I book through virgin would I be eligible for the points? I can use my Rewards Card for the payment, but wondered if I could add her on to my family account (temp take my husband off) then pool? Or is this not possible? If it is possible, how long would I have to have mum on and hubby off for?

Yep, it's possible. Make sure yr mum's velocity account address matches yours. Before your mum flies, take yr husband off of family pooling and add get your mum to pool to you. When her journey is done, reverse the procedure!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Ditto the advice above. A few of my extended family members live at my house during certain times of the year...

I have a question with this... I currently pool my girlfriends points to me. Her mum and dad are coming over in March and we have quite a few domestic flights booked. Could i in theory, cancel my gf being pooled to me and instead pool her dad too me. Then go onto my girlfriends account and pool her mums points to her account. Then once her mum and dad fly back to the UK, remove the pooling from both our accounts and then pool my girlfriend back to me? Once i pool her back to me, her points and status credits (earnt when her mum and dad were here)would again pool to me?

dreamweaver2611, yes for the most part, but no for this bit:

You will have to manually transfer the points as a family transfer. You can't transfer the SC. Family pooling only works while it is active (i.e. it's not retrospective).

Summary: You can end up with the points for all 4 people, but only SC for 2 (being you and your gf's dad).

How many family members can you "pool" to yourself at one time?

I pooled my wife and daughter to my account for a recent ASA I booked for them, I seemed to receive the SC and points.

6 members can be pooled to the one account including that account, of which a maximum two can be 18+.

Which includes the poolee, so effectively, if the pooled recipient is 18+ than only one other 18+ account can be pooled into it IIRC.
