Traveling to USA in October returning November hubbys passport expires in February, according to what Ive read the USA doesn't not require 6 months validity for Australian passports so there should be no issue right? Just want to make sure we are not going to get to the airport and have any problems? Anyone traveled on a aus passport with less then 6 months lately? We have ours ESTAs organized.
TIA just want to makes sure i reading things correctly:)

From the US ESTA site: "Visitors traveling to the U.S. are required to be in possession of passports that are valid for six months beyond the period of their intended stay in the U.S. Citizens of the countries listed on Six Month Club Update are exempt to the six-month rule and need only have a passport valid for their intended period of stay. If you are traveling visa free under the Visa Waiver Program, your passport needs to be valid for at least 90 days. If your passport is not valid for 90 days, you will be admitted into the U.S. until the date on which the passport expires."

Unfortunately the included link to the Six Month Club does not work :(

This link works:
https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2016-Jul/Six-Month Club Update _062016.pdf

If you don't want to phone them and confirm, at least print out that pdf - it is only a month or two old :)

I would just replace it as you are close and if someone gets a bit annoying they could make your holiday start a little hard.

I've been there with less than 6 months let, but be ready to be quizzed and re quizzed and have a print off your return details plus be prepared to demonstrate you have enough money for the intended stay.

I just renewed my passport today and process has all changed- no more forms out. I think you can ask for form there. I rang passport office and got a renewal pre filled sent out and off to aust post for photos and just had to sign and emergency contact filled and should have new one in couple of weeks. We are looking at travelling in oct/nov and my passport expires in march 17. Didnt want to have any hassles

I would just renew it before departure to save any potential hassle.

You can print the renewal form yourself, just be certain to print it correctly or the form will not be accepted.
Go to www.passports.gov.au
The other option is to ring the Passport Office on 131 232 and a form will be sent out.

Allow up to 3 weeks for your new passport to be mailed out to you.

I'm certainly no expert, but IIRC if you do renew his passport he will need a new ESTA

Reporting the OP with the request is the easiest way for moderators to be alerted as they do not read every thread. I have reported the thread to be fixed.
