Passenger mutiny over Qatar Airways flight diversion in UK

As ever, reluctant to completely believe newspaper story, but it appears QR decided to keep pax on board the plane for 5 hours at the diversion port Birmingham until the penny dropped and they could bus pax to Manchester, their destination, in between 1.5 and 2 hours.

What i dont get is why given QR presumably had fresh crew at MAN they didn't immediately send them down to fly the stricken plane and pax back to MAN (seemingly what they did in the end, but hours later with an empty plane)

Um well if I was in first class.... I disagree.... Champers/food and IFE... What's 5 hrs!

I wonder how many of the total POB were actually part of said mutiny. I really can't see a hundred PAX waving torches and pitchforks.

It's like getting called to a brawl involving 200 people. In reality it's maybe 6 fighting, 194 watching.

But yeah, 5 hours, that's totally beyond reasonable...
