I haven't found any recent thread about the pros/cons of the various local OTAs (trust/cardfees/bookingfees/usefulness), but I wondered today about whether expedia.com.au/wotif.com.au is the only provider that allows direct seat selection when purchasing?

In my case this particular issue is interesting because, for instance, MH charges fees to select seats when booking through their own site, but I believe you can get around that by purchasing through Expedia.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The question is whether it will stick or not. I haven't booked through Expedia in a while (not since Brazil times) but never got any seat selection then on QF.
