This is the second hotel within the airport at DOH (ie airside), and was opened in time for the World Cup last year.

But I can't find any place to book it. All searches lead to the Oryx Airport Hotel. Oryx Airport Hotel Maybe the Oryx Airport Hotel books for both of them (they share facilities, even though at different ends of the airport), but if it does, I cant see any differentiation in rooms on the Oryx site (nor in prices!!). Pretty sure they aren't combined for booking.

There's a review video where the guy says there was no availability at the original hotel, so they walked to the Garden Hotel (that he keeps mis-naming the Oryx Airport Hotel ...) and got a room for US$188.

The Oryx Airport Hotel is abt $450/night - I've stayed there once but I don't want to pay that again for a transit. Can anyone find the booking portal for the Oryx Garden Hotel?

Thanks. That’s a bit bizarre.

I’ll contact QR to see if they are letting the rooms out. I have a QR-QR transit and they ?used to? have a free transit accommodation scheme so maybe that’s what they use this hotel for now.

Years ago, when they re-configured the airport approach, the Oryx Rotana, which is landside, was no longer very convenient to use, having a 20-30 min drive last time they gave it to me to use.

I called Qatar Airways and asked for any information or a contact email for the Oryx Garden hotel at Doha airport.

They gave me an email which looked very much like the one for the regular Oryx Airport Hotel. They assured me it was for the Garden Hotel but of course it wasn’t.

So I asked the regular Oryx Hotel if they had any information on the situation at the Garden Hotel at all, but they said no, no information.

So now it's a tossup whether I pay $400 for the convenience of the Oryx Hotel Airside, or whether I take a cheaper hotel outside the airport, but for only about six hours plus travel time to and from and the hassle of going through immigration.

i’ve stayed at the Oryx once before and while it’s a nice hotel, you are definitely paying for convenience, not $400 worth of luxury 🙁

Don't forget about Qatar's new travel insurance requirement. (EDIT - it seems that it has or will be dropped for visits under 30 days.)

I've got a 10 hour layover coming up in DOH so I have just booked the Airport hotel. Idecided I needed a break for some sleep before heading on to MXP, and getting in at 11PM Doha time (6AM MEL time) means that I can start adjusting to European time.

Travelling with two other people so we've booked a room for 3 through Expedia. It was $490 but Cashrewards should return about $70. A lot cheaper than flying business class!
