Original Routing Credits on a VA -> UA flight change

My recent flight back from the US (SFO) to SYD was cancelled; after boarding and waiting 2 hours they advised that the flight would not be taking off due to operational issues. I was re-booked on the same flight the following day. I'd booked the flight via VA to maximise SCs as I very slowly creep towards Forever Gold :-)

No surprises that a few days later the new/replacement flight appeared on my statement as a UA flight with 20 SCs versus 45.

What did surprise me was the response when I called to request Original Requesting Credits. The first agent had no idea what I was talking about and hung up on me.... I called again and the next agent said "sorry we have no way of offering compensation".

Given that almost every Virgin international flight is not VA-operated and the only way for international SCs to count towards Forever Gold is to book via Virgin, I'm rather disappointed that the process to get the SCs which I booked and paid for is so difficult. I've now emailed the VFF Platinum team to hopefully resolve this,

Anyone else have a good/bad experience with ORCs?
