Original Routing Credit (flying VS)

Hi all,

A friend is currently in sydney after her flight to HKG (VS201) was cancelled yesterday. She had earlier flown VA from Brisbane to sydney (on the same pnr I believe).

She's been rebooked by VS staff on CX162 this morning (which is a worry because apparently the incoming CX161 was cancelled from a quick search?).

Aside from that however, my friend was counting on this flight to give her sufficient status credits to get to gold. My questions are:

1) will she get her points for the Bne-syd flight without needing to chase them up?
2) can she request original routing credit? If so, who (vs or va) will she need to approach, and what evidence will she require?

1) yes will get the BNE SYD points on VA
2) Will have to raise a manual claim with VA -Make sure that she explains this when calling so can be investigated separately
