Will I make it?

I'll know in 2 hours.

Quite doable depending on gate you arrive at-can sometimes be just the next gate.

My relaxed attitude was it would be AA's issue. I did make it. But plane went tech at 16,000 feet and turned around. So I'm in the flagship lounge relaxing.

+1

If it have been an international flight from another terminal with security to re-clear then I'd suggest no real hope.

I did 15 mins in DFW between gates in the same terminal (21- 27 if I rememeber right)
It was due to late arr of incoming of first flight. Needless to say last person to board.

American domestic seem to take so long to board!

considering dom-intl same terminal is no different to dom-dom it's quite doable. I like the fact you do not have to go to any passport control on outbound in USA

Personally, I wouldn't risk this. I had a 60 minute connection for ORD (from SFO to ORD and then on to YYZ) a while ago. Of course, my inbound was late, and the outbound was at a totally different pier. There are no travellators in ORD, and it's a long walk anywhere (especially after walking from the flagship lounge at the end of the K concourse to a gate at the end of the G concourse). See the map here: American Airlines Terminal Map - Chicago O'Hare International Airport On AA.com (it looks like it's small, but it's a long pier). If you are lucky enough to arrive on the same pier your outbound is going from, then great.

Of course if it's on the same ticket, you'll be fine and they'll protect you to the next outbound.

(oh it's moot you are in the a/c :p)

International? You're going to NRT to get home?

It was an hour connection that fell to 35 mins because of late inbound a/c. Original plan was to fly via NRT. But I'm now gogo on a flight to SEA. :)

it's now HKG not NRT. apparently we don't need Japanese tourists in Perth so no flight for us. :)
