I have oneworld tier status (Sapphire) with Cathay Pacific (Marco Polo Club Gold).

Can I make use of this with my upcoming Oneworld (280K points) RTW trip booked through Qantas?

Currently Bronze status with Qantas.

You can use your MPC Gold status to use the Business Class checkin line, and get into any Business Class lounges.

Edit: Award details added after post, so as below, might help with upgrade chances. No harm in adding the number to the booking as there's no points earn anyway.

You are already flying Business for the 280k OW award. So no difference. Unless you are flying CX you will be higher on the list for Op Up if there is a need. :)

No - Economy 280k OW award X two (2) people

So the lounge and general priority privileges that come from having that number in your booking will be worth it.

Thanks but the Qantas booking engine only allows me to enter my QFF no. How can I use my Cathay MC no. to get oneworld sapphire status?

Sapphire members may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld carrier.

So you can both use the business lounges (but not Qantas domestic Business Lounges, just the Qantas Club)

[-]They're a Sapphire member, but I reckon you've just confused your words.[/-]

For domestic flights there's Qantas Club access for holder + a guest (who doesn't need to be travelling, but obviously will be in this situation) and for international flights there's Business lounge access for holder + a guest travelling with them (or on any Oneworld service to be pedantic).

In regards to the OP, the number doesn't need to be in the booking to receive said benefits, just show the card. However, if you want the number in the booking, you might need to give Qantas a call on 13 11 31 to switch numbers.

My wording " The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld carrier" was a cut and paste from the Oneworld Site. http://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access/

Not saying it is correct, but that is the source.

For Cathay Flights and I guess Cathay lounges only:
[SUP]17[/SUP]Guests can be travelling on any airline, as long as they are accompanied by a member and access the lounge in accordance with the member's entitlement. Access to our arrivals lounge is for members only. Guests are not allowed.

Ahh, I was looking at the Qantas website with regard to Qantas lounges only.

Thanks but telephoned Qantas who advise that CX no. cannot be used (she was not very helpful though) also tried to locate 'self' in booking also unsuccessful. Are you able to explain further?

Could be because it is an award flight...

I did a dummy award booking and when it came to the customer details page I had those options.

Hi Guys..

HELP!

So as per the above, I currently have 2 bookings through Qantas accessible through my profile - One of which is on Points, one is Paid.

Now that I have Marco Polo Gold - I want to add this to the bookings to make sure I am provided with appropriate benefits - But I have tried everything and I cannot for the life of me work out how to add it!!

I can see where my QFF details are recorded but it does not allow me to modify or add an additional one?? Can someone please help!

There are other ways around it, but the simplest way would be to just call Qantas and ask them to change it over for you. :)

So.. Yes.. I tried ringing Qantas before I tried to do it online, the person essentially appeared to have no idea what I was talking about. And said it couldnt be done.. :/
