Hi Guys,

Not sure if this has been reported on here anywhere, but apologies if it has and I haven't seen it.

Just noticed the One World Round World fares are increasing a substantial amount from 13 April, I didn't get a notice about it, was just searching for a DONE4 for myself for later in the year.

I know a few of you have asked when the *A ones went up so thought it prudent to post it.

Fare are increasing as such:

4 Cont. 5 Cont. 6 Cont.
** VALID FOR SALE/TICKETING UNTIL 12APR09 **
YL 3150 3600 4230
YH 3330 3870 4500
J 9900 11070 12420
F 13950 15030 16020
** VALID FOR SALE/TICKETING ON/AFTER 13APR09 **
YL 3499 3999 4699
YH 3699 4299 4999
J 10999 12299 13799
F 15499 16699 17799

Interestingly it doesn't look like mileage based RTW fares are changing, only Continent based.

Hope the advanced notice saves a few of you some $$

Incidentaly, with the A$ the way it is, where's the best spot currently to begin a DONE4???

It's just the xONEx's (and xASnn, xCIRnn etc) going back up up 9.09% after being reduced by 10% for 10 weeks from Feb 1 as part of the oneworld 10th birthday campaign.

oneworld - 10 Years Anniversary Promotion

xGLOBnn's were not included in the campaign, that's what they are staying the same.

I think it is a bit more than the end of the 10th birthday promotion. My upcoming DONE4 was ~ $11000.Rebooked with the discount at $9900.So the $12299 after the 13th April is definitely a price hike.didnt the Circle mileage based fares have a significant increase last year so maybe why staying the same?

It is actually a 11.1% (1/9) increase which is exactly what is required to the return the airfares to the same level before the 10% discount was announced for February.

You are comparing the new airfare for a DONE5 to your booked DONE4. ;)

Thanks for the price updates.

Can you advise us what the prices are for Ex New Zealand, NZD is was now trading at NZ 1.28 = AUD 1.00 yesterday morning.

Another RTW question, if you were doing a RTW which included Africa; routing AKL-SYD-JFK-DFW-SFO-LHR-JNB-SYD-AKL(plus a few more stops) and not flying via Asia; does this make it a DONE4 or DONE5.

Oops, it was either 9.09% or 11.11% - thanks for striaghtening that out.

FWIW, the LHONE4 base price ex Oz was $3699 on Jan 31st ... so that's definitely going back to being the same.

That will teach me not to answer factual questions whilst drinking port!

This month's flavours are ICN and CPT. PITA to book out of ICN though, as the AA GSA would only accept CC payment in person at their office and they don't accept wire transfers from overseas bank accounts, only Korean banks. You can try the online tool and make your first 2 flights AA (ICN-NRT-North America) to force ticketing via AA.

If you don't mind spending on a spectacular amount of fuel fines ticketing with other airlines, then the online booking tool should work for you out of ICN.

AA CPT is much more helpful. Simply book with ATW Desk (+18002473247), then hand the booking over to CPT when you're ready for payment.

ATM I'm currently dealing with a Korean TA I was recommended via FT. Speaks English well, knows the rules inside out, and willing to ticket via AA. Will let you know how I fare after ticketing has been accomplished.

Looking forward to hear your results.

I played around ex-ICN and I've had +++++ of upto $2.5M KRW (thats a whopping 41% of the actual fare DONE4 fare) :(

I'd also like to hear how you go QF009 with your Korean TA booking through AA.

I got a total fare of approx AUD7106 all in when I last got my itin fared by AA Dublin Tariffs. Was all well and good until AA ICN refused to play ball.

Ticketing ex-ICN via AA CPT was about AUD7665ish all in due to the higher ex-SA fare.

The TA is working out the fare today. I'm not sure if they have an inhouse-fares dept or they're queueing it to AA for faring. I hope it's the latter. Last time I dealt with Trailfinders in Melbourne which has an inhouse dept for an LLGLOB26, they were not familiar with AA's faring policy and tried to charge me for YQ on every sector anyway!

QF009, did you not end up getting it purchased through the UK office ?
I did in Dec 08 no problems, Never spoke to anybody in ICN, only the AA RTW desk and AA UK to pay for it.

As expected, the TA applied YQ across all airlines. She's however agreed to double check the tax amount with AA so hopefully all should be sorted out soon.

Apparently she forgot that I wanted to ticket via AA and instead calculated taxes as if she's ticketing via CX. Anyway she's recalculated the taxes, and the total is KRW 7 008 600, which is approx AUD7080. :) A difference of approximately AUD700!

A DONE4 indeed.
