Quick question , how long before your requal date did you receive your letter ? Im VA Gold and my requal date is late April ... have just clicked over halfway to requal & deciding whether i should start looking at SC run to get me across the line or just hang back & see if i get comped another year .

My review date was 10 Feb 2013. So took a month to get the letter.
 
I've just been comped VA Gold for another year after only managing a paltry 110 SC's. Will easily get up to 300 this year with RAR thrown into the mix, so maybe I'll push for a requal.

Maybe this thread should read Slightly Less Aggrieved Customer.
Had originally booked Hamilton island with VA rewards for new years and then decided on Singapore / Koh Samui with QF and MI rewards.
After Sabre wouldn't allow me cancel online, VA customer service also were Sabre inflicted being only able to cancel on the $70 spend in lieu of my preferred points option.
Phoned again this week and before I was able to say anything further, the nice lady advised I can see you tried to do this last week and whilst I am in the same position, will cancel the flights without any penalties.
Definitely made the hassle of making a second call worth it.
 
I'm happy - waived change fee when upgrading fare from flexi-saver to business ($$).

Slightly OT, but FWIW, I have anecdotal evidence that your qualification flights will have no issues as well ;)
