Tram 96, East Brunswick to St Kilda Beach, Melbourne.
The Age
Some background:
Tram 96 travels tracks to glory - National - theage.com.au
Right in my own backyard! I ride it home from work some days.
But I hadn't even a clue that it's actually featured in Journeys of a Lifetime. To me it's just an overly crowded after work tram ride. I am still wondering what's so special about it. Has life become so mundane that I don't even notice how good the simple things are?
I do love the bit immediately after Fitzroy St, when the tram cruises along St Kilda beach right up to Acland St - my journey every Sunday "morning" (meaning the time I actually crawl out of bed
) to a greasy, disgusting, unhealthy but totally yummy breakfast!
Maybe one day I'd try to do the full length of it to discover its beauty.
