One night in Singapore

Thanks to all.

Q - We arrive on BA at 9.45pm and leave on CX at 7am the next morning. Will they ticket bags (might not take any - all depends on the wife:rolleyes:) through BNE-SYD-SIN.....HKG? Separate (QF award) bookings. If you stay in the transit hotel I assume any bags would need to be in the system rather than with you?

Many here have reported collecting bags from the left luggage counter next morning if you cannot get it through checked.

Much safer than relying on transfer counters.

I would concur, don't think I would rely on transfer counter staff in SIN again myself.

Checked in to QF52 (Thursday 27th Feb) and spent 30 minutes of lounge time trying to interlink my bag through to CX booking to Shanghai leaving Singapore at 8am the next day, but with no success and much frustration.

Went to CX desk with luggage tag at SIN as soon as I landed at 4pm to get the bag checked through, and after 10 minutes the person said good day to me, and because I had doubt asked that my bag would be tagged through. To which I was asked "oh they didn't tag it through in Brisbane, hang on ..... what time is your flight again .... 8am tomorrow .... um that should be tagged through, but check with the gate staff in the morning.

Next morning after airport hotel, went to transfer desk to check, yes that was done, system says bag tag is QF.... So no CX tag number for retagging... No QF one is what is in the system so should be fine.

With T90 I wasn't confident with what I was told, so went through immigration to find my bag sitting in the luggage area and told go up and recheck it.

I personally don't think I would bother trying to do it any other way than to get my bag and recheck in, in person.

I have been asked a few times to check with transfer desk/gate agent regarding my luggage. Given the all clear and luggage still on flight.

Last week I cleared immigration and collected luggage to check back in to BKK as I want to have an even chance of my luggage arriving with me.

On the return I did not care as my luggage can be delayed back to SYD so used transfer counter.

Ok, if I have to endure the luggage - I'm not going to risk the time & effort to ensure the bags are sorted. Looks like CP it is.....another 30 mins isn't going to make any difference to a good night sleep after indulging in the Flounge and BA F.

Cheers.
