Hi,
I have a trip for Perth - Sydney on Sunday and i sold a Xbox 360 to a mate over the internet and he is picking it up at the airport and then iam continuing on my trip to NZ.

What im wondering is, if it is ok to take the:

-Xbox 360 Console
-360 controller
-power brink and power cord
-av leads

with me as onboard baggage?

Everything else like the games i assume are fine to take on as they are just dvds basically.

Cheers for anyones help

wood88,

Welcome to AFF.

Personally I would consider it OK assuming it was within all the 'normal' carry on limits.

Hi Straitman
glad to be here,

Yes it is within the bad size limits and weights less than 7kg.
i might go through the xray machine before i book my bags in just in case,
doing this will prob make me look suspicion though haha.
Cheers

An X-Box is no more than a computer and many of us carry computers through security screening on a regular basis. Cables, Power Supplies, Hard Disks are not a problem for security screening.

I have carried three laptop computers and associated power supply, cables, chargers etc through security screening in the USA where they are even more paranoid about what is allowed through. The security screeners didn't even blink as I unloaded 3 laptops into the trays.

You should be prepared to remove the console from your carry-on bag and place it into a tray to go through the xray machine separately just as we do with laptop computers.

I assume your PER/SYD leg is a domestic booking otherwise you might be a transit pax at the SYD Int'l terminal, and then your friend will be unable to collect his xbox.

There are no international flights PER-SYD so it must be a domestic sector.
