I have never had status before...never really travelled enough to earn it. This past 12 months I have travelled more than usual, especially to Melbourne, and I was rather chuffed to get to Silver, if only because it meant I didnt have to pay to take baggage. :)

So, after a recent OS trip (and thanks to the partnership between Singapore Airlines and Virgin) I find I am now Gold! I know to many people that is not so exciting, but to me it is...only thing is...now what? My main travel is domestic, so what advantage is gold over silver really? Any tips, tricks, traps the more experienced travellers can pass on to make the most of my newly acquired status? ;)

Make yourself familiar with all the enhancements on there web site.

But the more status the better.

I reckon Premium entry at Sydney is actually the best thing about gold when put together with lounge membership.

Lounge is the main thing. Priority boarding/checkin is also nice, along with extra bonus points earned. Enjoy!
 
Extra luggage allowance, Lounge access and Priority Boarding especially overseas is fantastic. Extra points are good also, as well as the occasional offer that they email through. Well done!
 
VS clubhouse is also excellent.
