My daughter, her partner and a group of friends are meeting in Munich this week for Octoberfest.
What fun!!!

I'll be arriving on Thursday am for it. Found a friend nearby to go with me for a few days, much better as I don't really enjoy drinking alone (even if surrounded by others).

Family in Berlin tomorrow anything worth checking out with Oktoberfest already starting.

Mrs RB is a horse lover so we sent some time each day checking the various brewery carts & the associated decorations. We also tracked down the brewery where they were stabled

I am heading down next weekend. My first experience was in 2000 and I have attended in 2008 2011 and 2014, I can say that it has changed a lot since 2000 ( in a good way)… The behavior of the non Germans back in 2000 was a little on the filthy side (urinating at tables etc). It has become a more family event as of late

It was 2004 when we were there-we were quite amazed that there was a designated family day. Must say the associated "joy rides" & entertainment were a bit of an unexpected bonus of entertainment. The worst night was when there was a major soccer game on with the visiting fans the biggest nuisances
