I flew with Air NZ to CChurch during World Cup and was given an application form and offered free membership including points from those flights. I've heard nothing and have called a couple of times now. Are they usually this slow or should I follow it up again. I still have boarding passes, but have to say am a little disappointed with their professionalism. Is it perhaps not worth it. Intend to travel there fairly often and have always been a rusted-on Qantas tragic, so is it really worth the effort.

Welcome to AFF sheps. :D

It's quite possible that even though you were able to joinf for "Free", the actual travel was not eligible to earn any Airpoints, only status.

Do you actually have an Airpoints number after submitting your application.

I was given a number, there were 4 of us and the CSO assured me that we'd all been joined up and that yes the flights we had already taken were eligible - that was the offer provided the form was filled in on the flight and handed in to staff before disembarking. I just haven't received any confirmation - other than verbal and a membership No - including cards. Should I persue it for 3 flights - BNE - CChurch, CChurch - Auckalnd - BNE. Any Thoughts

IMHO, the only tangible benefit of AirNZ Airpoints for those not resident in NZ is status. If you aren't going to fly enough on them for *G status then I suggest any extra time you may spend chasing this up is really wasted.
