Norwegian will be leasing 777s from two separate operators to fly Paris-Newark and Rome-Newark over the summer.

This will replace 787 services.

The aircraft are being leased from Euro-Atlantic Airways (Paris) and Privilege Style Airlines.

Norwegian has some great one way 'business class' (premium economy) deals across the Atlantic, especially if you need a one way (usually around AUD700 one way, including lounge access). Their premium cabin has 45-55 inches of seat pitch.

The replacement aircraft also look pretty good business class wise (images courtesy of airliners(.net):

That is something I wonder about - here in Sth America both Latam and Avianca have had to wet-lease quite a few planes.

lol. I had your Wamos Air thread in mind and thought I'd add to the 'what will my leased aircraft seat map look like' data pool :)

At least in Norwegian's case (not that I've flown them) the J product is probably as good on the leased craft - unlike Wamos in general :)

Does this engine issue affect Jetstar? I really don't understand it all.

God this must be hurting Rolls Royce - just between Avianca and Latam there are about 8 wet-leased aircraft - from A340's to A330's to a 747!

Of 1277 787 orders (as of early 2018), 681 are using GEnx and 420 RR Trent 1000. Remaining 176 not confirmed for engine type.

There are currently 278 (of 670) delivered 787s with the Trent 1000.

The airlines using Trent 1000s include Air Austral, Air China, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Avianca, British Airways, El Al, Ethiopian (6/16), LATAM, LOT, Norwegian, Royal Brunei, Scoot, Singapore and Virgin Atlantic

In June and July one of the daily flights between LGW and JFK and v.v are being operated by a Wamos Air 747! Massive increase in capacity with 450+ seats available on each flight. Good news for a small window in early July is that flights are being operated by an exMH 747. Those booking premium economy can select an MH F full flat seat. For other flights they offer just 12 former SQ skybeds (the purple angled flats).

Got an email today from Norwegian... 'summer sale' between JFK and LGW for June and July! USD139 each way. Not surprising with the massive increase in seats needing to be filled.

Wow an increase in 186 seats (477-291)

But apparently the 747 only has 26 premium seats compared to Norwegian 32 in the 787-800??
Or am I looking at something else?

It seems the 747s to JFK are either a J12 (3 rows of old SQ 2+2 on the forward upper deck) or F9 ex MH F. Large decrease, but apparently still plenty of seats available.
