Hi Experts..

Little bit about the trip..

Who - Me (flying from Mel and will be there a week earlier) and my 2 sisters (flying from SIN or KUL)
When - March 2018 (2 weeks for my sis and im hoping to be there for 3 weeks)
How - Still trying to figure out the most 'economical' way to get J class tickets to surprise my sisters

I'm in the planning stage now but still undecided which country to go, one of the main purpose is to see Northern Light, im kinda shortlisted Iceland and Norway, but i read that choose either one and then Stockholm, Denmark or Finland...

Any advise will be appreciated....

Iceland is expensive........we have 9 days coming up and the accommodation was interesting and expensive (mostly airbnb). I would encourage you to book early if you do Iceland.

Definitely include 3-4 days in Stockholm on your itinerary if you can. Wonderful and picturesque city with so much history, culture and world-class food to experience.

If you do Norway, you might want to consider a 2-day stop in the beautiful city of Bergen, perhaps on your way north to see the Northern Lights. Former capital city of Norway. Norway is expensive, but well worth it - surely one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

IMO, Finland, while also wonderful, requires a bit more time to fully appreciate. The cities aren't overly impressive at first glance compared to other cities in the region; the best experiences require travelling slowly and outside of the cities. So with your total timeframe being only 2-3 weeks, plus the fact that you'll have to travel quite long distances northbound in order to try to catch the Northern Lights, I'd suggest to leave Finland for another time.

Make sure you have a look at AY for your J tickets - well under $6K for round trip SYD-xx_-HEL. Otherwise you can look at Y to Asia and J onwards with a range of airlines.

With AY you can do open jaw bookings for much the same price as SYD-HEL-SYD. You could book SYD-xx_-HEL-TXL outbound, and CPH-HEL-xx_-SYD return. My flight with AY in J next week is SYD-HKG-HEL-VIE out, and CDG-HEL-HKG-SYD return, for under $6K. SO you could fly somewhere for your week alone, and fly back from somewhere else in line with your sister. You could connect via ferry from somewhere else after the first week or find an LCC option quite cheaply.

i tot i saw AY promo J class ticket about $2.5k last year...will wait for few more weeks, since mar 2018 ticket just open for booking...

I have seen $5.2 for an open jaw, all seats in J, and have heard rumours of $4+K. Let me know if you see $2.5K again!
