No Y Seat Availability on SQ

I am looking at booking the next family holiday and travelling to somewhere SE Asia. I have tried a few destinations which will be SQ via SIN and all seem to come up with the same weird behavior. They show business available for all flights but no economy. I am using the Virgin website to try and book a flight to PEN / SGN / HKT from BNE in July and have tried lots of other dates but can't get any Y tickets. If you check via the SQ website it shows there are Y tickets still available.
Before you say just book via SQ, I get 50% cashback through the Virgin website and would retain gold with the family pooling.

Any ideas if I am doing something wrong, do SQ only sell J tickets via Virgin now?

Most likely SQ hans't released the Y seats to VA.
They might release seats to VA closer to Jul, but also, Jul is school holidays, and it might be that SQ is aware of this, and have put it as peak.
Ie, they could be more interested in selling the tix as a rev tix, before putting it as a reward seat to KF, then to VA.
Are you looking at rew seats or rev bookings?
This is only supposition.
You could try phoning SQ up and use points that way, or if rev tix, make a rev tix booking on the SQ website, and put in your VFF #.

I don't think it is date related. I have tried every month from now until July and 0 Y seats. I thought initially like you they might not have released that far but I can't find a Y seat on ANY date from now till then. I am not using points for any bookings, I think that comes after you select. There are literally no Y options for cash or points on VA.
As I said I don't want to book via SQ as I get 50% cashback through the Virgin website and will top me up to gold for another year.

Nah, I don't think you are doing anything wrong ... I tried a few dates as well, only J available, actually, only FLEX J available ... not even Sale J. This is only if you need VA codeshare with SQ.

There are Y seats if you like VA and TG combo ...
