No more "anytime access" for CL's

That actually was orignally the case for Plat FF's as well, but was eliminated quite quickly.
F lounges? I've been Platinum since 2007 and at the time was able to access the International Business lounge flying other airlines. Anytime Access was removed shortly there after.

P.S. I don't think anytime access for higher status such as Platinum and Platinum One is a big drain for Qantas. Just get rid of double SC offers giving away cheap status.

If I do half the flying than the usual WP suspects, and still achieve WP (double status credits promotions notwithstanding) it stands to reason that I will use the lounge less frequently and not be a ”drain" on QF lounge resources as suggested above. Moreover, since I choose to fly premium cabin , my earn rate is faster than those who toil in the rows 4-400. (lol). In my case specifically, I also have lifetime Qantas Club courtesy of my Australian Airlines “Flight Deck" membership prior to the merger. I guess what I’m saying is that QF have done the numbers and the more high status pax they have, the more loyal to the brand they will be. I know that I will fly VA only if there is no QF alternative. I did enjoy ATA when I had it. It made trips to the airport to collect friends and family from flights a little less arduous, and gave me that warm glow one enjoys from being treated a little better from the rest of the crowd.

I don't really think that many hang out their when flying with other airlines anyway.

I think you'd be surprised, I see plenty when I'm there - and they're just the ones I know about during entry and/or overhearing conversations..
