Hi everyone. This is my first post. Very interesting forum.

I'm a newbie, currently QF FF Bronze, who has recently started to fly a lot. I have done 2 x SYD-LAX-JFK-LAX-SYD in Economy since April.

As it's my own business and we're still in high growth phase, I need to conserve cash and max out the SCs. I have about 500,000 FF points and enough SCs to get to Silver on my next international flight.

I have to fly SYD-MOW-LED in August and another SYD-LAX-JFK around that time. I could combine or separate the trips.

I am wondering whether anyone has any advice on maxing the SC per $ on this travel. Should I do a RTW, travel via the US in both directions or do two separate trips and travel SYD-MOW-LED-SYD via Asia/Europe?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AFF.

I know it may not be great advice but you can do something like SYD-MEL-AKL-LAX-JFK-LAX-AKL-MEL-SYD if it does not cost too much more. Perhaps you could also try to route LAX-DFW/ORD-JFK return instead of the direct flights.

I know it is not a great deal of SCs more but that is what I started doing early on when I was flying SYD-BKK returns and then started going SYD-BNE/PER-SIN-BKK returns. All SCs earned when striving to reach a particular goal are important. From the modest travel I was doing 4-5 years ago I will now reach Lifetime Silver by the weekend and then well on the way to Lifetime Gold.

Since you are travelling to the USA, you have the opportunity for some really good ways to garner SC at an excellent rate.

Search this forum for "instant upgrade" fares or YUPs/KUPs etc.
