I had an experience flying SYD to MEL on Saturday 1 January which I hadn't had for, oh, well at least two years of flying Qantas as a WP. I was seated in row 4 and a crew member came up, greeted me personally and thanked me for my loyalty and asked me if there is something I can get for me. Also another person in the row behind had the same treatment.

Unfortunately this was done after the call to prepare cabin for landing had been made so of course I said no thanks to their offer. If they had done the greeting earlier I would have asked for a glass of bubbly from J to celebrate the new year ;) 😁

A new year resolution for QF perhaps to make status folk feel wanted now things are coming back to some sort of normal? Has anyone else experienced this lately?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Had a similar experience to you on a SYD-BNE flight a few days ago. Seated in Row 4, the FA (not the CSM) greeted me by name during meal service, and asked if there was anything else they could do for me.

My subsequent BNE-DRW and DRW-SYD flights, no greeting however.

On the BNE-LST-BNE services mrsdrron knows how many WPs are on board as they get given one of the small water bottles after boarding.

Pretty sure the FA used my name during meal service for my early december flight.

It's almost certainly not any kind of new initiative in my view but just those certain crewmembers who have always done this kind of thing and going back to their training.

I noted a few weeks ago in the P1 thread an almost over the top gushing "welcome back" from an international CSM (on a dom 787 flight) which was nice and all, then another flight few hours later (737) absolutely zero comment made (I could care less, in fact I prefer nothing).

I am sure everyone will continue to have variable experiences in this department.. because as we* love to say here "Consistently Inconsistent(tm)"

(* OK well it's mostly me :) )

Got a personalised greeting and a "Can I get anything for you?" after the meal service in row 6 coming back on Saturday, but not going down in the same seat a few days before. Didn't get greeted on the (few) flights I took last year or in 2020 either, so maybe they've started to make a (semi-)concerted effort again in 2022?

Does Qantas still offer sourdough in business for breakfast? If so, I might ask for a slice next time I'm in Y on a morning flight.

On a Qantas Brisbane to Cairns flight mid afternoon last week in row 6, the CSM stopped to say hello and whether MrsK and I would like anything from the Bus cabin. We had a couple of glasses of bubbles which was nice. I haven't had any special greetings or attention on the QantasLink flights (717 & Dash 8s), which had been the majority of our flights out of Canberra.
And yes, they have sourdough in the Bus cabin for the breakfast service.
