I am trying to activate the 20k extra points before applying for a card.

I get the below screenshot, saying I will get an email confirming it has been activated. It also says in the T&C's the process is select the option then get the email then you are good to go. No email has come through after some hours and have done the selection a few times. Anyone else have experience with this?

Thanks

I range velocity customer service, they just said to check my emails tomorrow. If not there then ring back and they will escalate it.

Do we really have to wait for the confirmation email before applying for the card? Does anyone else not get the email?

It's worth noting that twice in previous years I have activated a new credit card offer like this AFTER applying for credit cards (in unlucky timing - twice), however it still applied retroactively.

No guarantee this would be the case again as they might have caught on, but it seems the trigger for the offer to be applied in the past was the arrival of sign-up bonus/ minimum spend points to the account rather than the application itself. On one of those occasions it was a multi-month offer of bonus points and the velocity promo applied after the first month's bonus points, not at the end of all three months, which was what was stipulated in the T&C's of that promo (and also explains my theory on the 'trigger').

I'm now in this boat a THIRD time (of course that's my luck) and I'll keep you posted on if it works again for this current promo :)

see my post above, you might be ok with not waiting, but you're also in a slightly different scenario and perhaps could afford to wait anyway :)
