Okay, thats maybe 6 flights per week for 6 months of the year. What about the rest?,

I'm paying and so are you and you and you apparently. Paying with our tax dollars for our elected officials and their offspring. Grrrr...

Who are the people actually paying for J on this? There are very, very few companies in Australia that will pay for staff to travel J on a 4 hour flight. Celebrities arent going to be going to Perth, and CEOs etc are going less and less as the mining boom ends.

Who is paying for these 100s of J seats every day?!

if you have a connecting nz international flight same ticket the actual cost of j transcon is less than 50%. Ie 670 vs 1800.

Looks like VH-XFG re-entered service today making that two A330 "The Business" refurbs.
VH-XFE flew Perth - Melbourne yesterday and hasn't left since, so expect this is the next one to go under the knife.

Where are they going under the knife? Manilla?

I thought I read that they were being done in MEL. Except for the first one that is.

The first one was done in SIN and the reminder in MEL.

VH-XFE is back in the air so it's not that one for the next refurb. It looks like it's VH-XFD on flightradar24

Though I think something is going on with the A330 fleet as it appears VH-XFC hasn't flown in a while according to flightradar24 so they appear to be operational with 5 aircraft (4 whilst one is being refurbed)

Great to see some of their work being done in Australia and in particular, MEL!

Me.

With the exception of the Monday Morning / Friday afternoon transcons, VA J is very very rarely full.
On QF, I've never seen a transcon cabin have more than 3-4 seats empty. (BNE/SYD/MEL-PER)

The last time I flew VA J class Syd-Perth last September was on a Sunday and there were only 4 seats empty, last return trek to Melbourne on the A330 and each way the J class was over 50% full. They are getting a few bums on seats but with business cooling down in Perth then perhaps there has been a reduction in numbers.

They are still getting plenty of Y passengers on them though.
