So who has seen it and what did you think?

I enjoyed it. A good mix of old and new characters. Unfortunately some of the plot was a cut and paste of the first (1977) film.

I am not really a Star Wars fan, but "The Force Awakens" is pretty good.

JJ Abrams has done a similar job to his remake of Star Trek: there is enough continuity with the previous story lines so fans can appreciate it; and there is enough of a new direction in the story so non-fans can enjoy it.

That's right. Skipping high season. Just missed the release of the DVD. No rush. I can wait.

The Millennium Falcon crashing through the trees was worth it by itself.

I have no doubt it is worth it. Have not been disappointed yet. I am not a cinema type of person.

Saw it today. Loved the first half with the new characters and the set up, but very disappointed with the rehash of the death star storyline. They even had the same plot line of needing to disable the protection beam. With the inclusion of the old characters and the regular references to the original trilogy they really didn't have to rehash that. Everything else is terrific. The special effects are perfect, not overdone but still impressive. Cast is great, the new droid is very cute, much like a pet dog. A 9/10 film that's dragged down by the plot rehash to maybe 7.5.

I found 1 was very much like 4 and in turn 7. If that's any indication for the rest of the saga, the next Ep could be a little boring
