Also a heads up.. If you call SQ they can issue you a booking and then
you have 2 months to pay for it. You dont have to pay for anything now.

Kinda makes it easier to save up for J rather than paying on the spot

how did you get it at that price? good saving compared to what they are stating on their website, or their online booking facility, which is giving a quote of $3635. I'm plannng a trip to HKG for 2 at the end of Oct/early Nov.

Then book this week. Although SQ direct may be allowing extended payment deadlines, the booking will need to have been created by August 28 to ensure it receives the current fare prices.

Assuming they don't rerelease the sale the next day, that is, which a lot of airlines seem to be doing ...

its all about finding the right days and dates.

I was going to go on a Thursday out of Mel - Sin but i left it too late and price jumped $1000. Missed booking by 2 days. I'm leaving on the Wed now.

The other killer is the flight form NRT - SG... The cheapest day to do this on is a Tuesday. Every other day the fares go up by min $1000 to $3000 !! if you go on a weekend/

the SIN - MEL does not really matter on dates as it does not affect it.

Also be aware.. By default it wont choose the A380. Generally 747 and 777 this also might
affect fares..

It took me about a 2 hours to find the right combo of flights and days

oh their website sucks bad and make sure you use IE.


I was use firefox and it was not updating the prices when i changed planes/date properly.

This reason the fare jumps between days is that the required D booking class isn't available. If you don't want to change your travel plans, it is a good idea to waitlist a seat on your preferred date at the promotional fare price. AFAIA you won't be able to do this online, but potentially SQ on the phone will, or book via an agent (some agents may be able to free up these seats on the spot). A Krisflyer number in the booking will significantly improve your chances of waitlist clearance.
