New Silver Smart Qantas luggage tags when downgraded from Gold?

Can I request for a set of 2 new sliver smart luggage tags if I am being downgraded from Gold? If in the later part of the year, I achieve Gold again, will they post me new Gold tags again?

I'm pretty sure tag are only dispatched on the way up.. not on the way down..

That's right. When you fall back to PS you can still use your SG tags.

I never asked on the way down, so can't be definitive (I would have just used the old ones if need be..). However, on the way up again, they certainly do send a new set.

Definitely can ring up and ask, you're allowed 2. But you do have to ask as they don't come out automatically. And yes you get a new set of gold ones if you then qualify as SG.
