New search engine quotes are erratic

Hi,

I am very unimpressed with Qantas' new search engine. I am trying to get a quote for a return flight to VNO and the SELECT DATES page quotes totally different fares to the SELECT FARE page.

For example, I select depart 11/9 return 22/9 and I get these fare quotes (screenshot resized down due to the new Sesame Street layout...):



Then I click "continue" and the price has magically increased by $176!



There are many other examples where it increases by as much as $600!

This makes it impossible to plan my business trip. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah had this experience recently. Was interesting changing one date and watching the other leg fares change.

Another problem is that Jet* fares are listed and are often the lowest fare. Yet another reason to have the ability to remove Jet* from Qf searches.

This is completely ridiculous. I now searched:

Depart 10/9: $1356
Return 23/9: $1260

Then click continue and on SELECT FARE page I get:
Depart $1632
Return $2018

A difference of $1034!!!!


How am I supposed to plan my trip??? Red Roo? I have screenshots and PDFs to prove it. Your system IS BROKEN!!!

What am I to do? Seriously... I want to fly Qantas but you are making it impossible.

Another search this morning

Prices on SELECT DATES page:
Depart 26/8: $1416
Return 10/9: $1310
Total: $2726

Click Continue, SELECT FARE page shows
Depart 26/8: $2426
Return 10/9: $2018
Total: $4444

A difference of $1718, just by clicking Continue!

Interestingly - when I go back (i.e. select "View lowest fares around this date") the prices on the SELECT DATES page for those two dates actually show the higher amount.

The fares that show up are FLEX - booking into the classes Y-Y-S, S-B-B.

When I look at this itinerary on the ITA Matrix search, it shows it is available for $3340 (same flights) and this books into H-H-S, S-S-S

So why can't I book the flights into those classes on the Qantas search engine?

Called Qantas about this and the (friendly and knowledgeable) operator explained this is due to the way Emirates system quotes through-fares on LOT. Quotes to WAW work fine, as soon as you add VNO it will only book into higher class fares.

Still, the search engine needs a lot of improving. For this itinerary I'll need to book over the phone.
