Four Points by Sheraton, Perth.

A posting on Flyer Talk indicated that a Four Points would be opening on 1 June 2012.

I did a bit of googling and find that the Four Points New Hotels site indeed shows a new Perth hotel.

It is situated at 707 Wellington Street, Perth, and appears to be a rebranding of the current Citigate, Perth.

Due to open 1 June 2012, with 277 rooms.

Will be good to have an SPG option in Perth again.

Re: Four Points by Sheraton, Perth.

This hotel has been a few brands over the years.

Interesting that it isn't being folded into the Accor family.

Indeed good to have SPG presence - shame about Sheraton.
Lowest rate for FP is A$166 ...hmmm

Does anyone know if bookings for stays post June 1 through Citigate prior to June 1 will be converted and recognised as SPG at check in?

I just tried to book it for next week, and it's not showing up in the spg website as bookable, but if you actually ring up they will make a booking. Unfortunately, the price was ASTRONOMICAL - AUD395 a night room only - for a glorified motel that's pretty steep!

AUD395 for that piece of cough! Are they high? (high as in the effects arising from the consumption of illicit substances just to clarify)

(Notes that Perth prices across the board have passed the point of insanity long back, when a Formula 1 near an airport can get away with AUD129 and an Ibis upwards of AUD150+; and the fact occupancy is always above 90%, and no new major hotels planned or under construction anytime in the forseeable future)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There's that one markis10, planned for construction on an existing City of Perth carkpark site along Hay St; as well as a much smaller botique hotel (The Terrace Hotel) at St Georges Tce & Milligan St on the Bishops See site which includes restoring and integrating a heritage residence into a small hotel development (only 15 sadly).

And you're right, 67 rooms coming online doesn't count for much in market with constant 85% plus occupancy levels anytime soon. While urban infill development in/around South and North Perth/Northbridge, and of course in CBD might release some of the pressure on short-stay apartments; this won't be anywhere near enough to bring occupancy and rack rates down to reasonable levels within the next 3-5yrs.

Yikes! I know its a 4 Points, not a premium Sheraton, but ... yikes, this property is not even a shadow of the old Sheraton on Adelaide Terrace thats now the Pan Pacific.

Yay for having SPG back in town, but is this the best property/location they could find?
