I still cant get excited about Y+ seating, especially given the amazing advancements in J seats. All these Y+ seats look a lot more Y+ than J-

"amazing advancements" in J seats - I hear you, and maybe this is going slightly off topic, but I would prefer a full size $50 mattress on a flat floor than any J seat I have ever experienced.

I was hoping that Virgin were going to add a leg rest like the Qantas PE Seat.

I don't agree that AirNZ PE seats are better than VA. After my recent J VA trip to LAX, I actually preferred (and got more sleep in) the PE seats. Their new seats cannot come soon enough!

+1 the space seat on the window pair is shocking. Middle section seems not so bad. All in all the actual seat is not much different to a normal Y seat anyway, its the pretty white plastic it sits inside that makes it look larger.

Very interesting they haven't included a foot/leg rest!

The Spaceseat is definitely a love/hate product. I don't mind it but probably find the new "traditional" black PE seats on the 787-9 and refitted 772 more comfortable.

Looking at the photos, I like the CX PE seat more.

The seat pitch of 41 inches, the food / beverage arrangements (with wine from business class) and the quoted baggage allowance of 64 kg all sound good.

However, while I know it's early days and we only have two images to go on, the seat itself looks suspiciously like an economy seat with a reading lamp attached to it, rather than a "genuine" PE offering. Compare it, for example, to the images and descriptions of the new PE seats on the Singapore Airlines website; VA's new PE seat is in a distant 2nd place with no leg-rest, a very narrow central armrest, no drinks-holder.........

The new J seats look like a significant step forwards and upwards for VA. It would be a shame if the PE seats move downwards and backwards........

YMMV, as always :)
