Hi all :)

Newbie here but a frequent flyer who will be rejoining the skys again very soon.

I'm looking at refreshing my carry on luggage to a hard case. Currently looking at the Qantas branded hard cases but just wondering if anyone has any feedback / suggestions? Probably looking at around $120 mark (obviously in this field a $120 price tag is usually a RRP reduced from $250 haha)

Thanks!
Andy

I'm looking for a new large suitcase and, via the internet, have narrowed it down to these three:
  1. Samsonite Restackd Large 75;
  2. Delsey Rempart 2.0 Hardside EXP Large 80cm; and
  3. Delsey Chatelet AIR 2.0 Hardside Large 76.
Does anyone have any experience with these that they can share?

I'm also planning to visit Luggage Direct and have a proper look at them.
I went with the Delsey Chatelet AIR 2.0 80cm XL Trunk in the end. I preferred the shape of the trunk to the 76cm suitcase.

The Rempart was a bit too industrial and Restackd seemed like a 'jelly on a plate'. I guess it might 'flex' with the mishandling by the baggage handlers but I wasn't convinced.

Im looking at a 55cm samsonite one of enwrap, hifi, restacked, upscape

Just read that from this year airlines /some are enforcing strict size limitations and these are the right dimensions but a bit bigger than the cages you shove them in, and they wont let you on, any truth to this?

It is highly dependent on where you are - in Europe they are quite strict (especially on LCCs) - in the US, everything is bigger so if you buy an 'international' sized carry on you'll be fine.

In Aus... I've never seen J* force a check but I also haven't forced myself to fly J* for a long long time.

Virgin Australia staff are definitely formally incentivised to check oversize/weight hand luggage, both in the check-in area and at the gate.
