New Hilton Garden Inn for Aus

I wonder if they'll import second hand 80s A/Cs from the US just like the US HGIs?

The three Darwin Hiltons are all going for similar prices this weekend (range $265-293). Maybe we need some Hampton Inns for a lower cost option.

US HGIs are usually a fair bit cheaper than the full Hiltons and even DTs.

This is something that I always think of when I think HGIs too. I presume you refer to the long/wide ones below the window?
*Every* hotel I’ve stayed at across multiple chains and independents have those from SFO up the Pacific NW and even in NYC!

They’re actually everywhere and I hate them…

That's the one! Some of them have that constant fan speed button which is good, so you just get used to the noise and don't get woken up by the fan switching off and on during the night.

You've picked some bad hotels then!

The nicer / newer hotels usually have ducted AC like back here. I've seen a few of them in DTs and maybe one or two full Hiltons - but pretty much every HGI / Hampton Inn.
