Hi All, I've been a basic member for a few years but just upgraded to GOLD with the end-or-year promotion. I decided to upgrade (promotion was just a bonus) after having a technical issue with the site while on Lord Howe Island - the support in response to an e-mail was so very friendly and prompt. The team at AFF deserves support for all their work.

Now about me - retired IT exec - travel is a major pass time (with husband) - haven't traveled in Y for 10+ years (other than short 1-2 hour flights) due to all the tips and tricks with various FF programs (buying miles US (remember them), AA, and LM as well as transferring to SQ from AmEx) but as we all know the party is pretty much over - with program devaluations, low Aussie dollar, and lack of award availability. So these days I keep an eye airfare deals (but avoid mistake fares).

Good for you!

Yes - the party was fun while it lasted - i'm going to dump my amex explorer card - dont see the point.

I agree - for me the gold subscription cost is worthwhile (a little less so since the site change though)
