New booking confirmation email after modifying existing booking

Is it normal NOT to receive a new booking confirmation email after modifying an existing booking using the same booking number?

Noticed that for the Europe bookings and now also the MEL bookings.

Have been modifying the bookings due to rate changes and also one date change.
